
Sonya Silva Managing Consultant
Sonya is a Managing Consultant at Aliter Investments with 25+ years of experience within the financial services industry. She is an investment professional and business strategist with extensive knowledge of investment operations. She has led various initiatives focused on business transformation encompassing front, middle and back-office functionality. She is a trusted business partner providing leadership and performance on product strategy, investment analysis and reconciliation, and reporting. She has a record of success managing a high-performance team that drives efficiency and results.
Prior to joining Aliter, Sonya served as Vice President at an independent securities lending firm. In her role she worked on collateral management, focused on portfolio management, investment analysis and risk management as well as the oversight of daily and monthly accounting reconciliation of the reinvestment portfolios. She was also responsible for the management of client earnings reporting and broker billing. Sonya played a central role in helping to develop a product to diversify and increase committed liquidity resources while offering a compelling risk-adjusted return for her client. She worked with the client during the discovery and due diligence phases to create a product with an attractive yield which met their strict risk profile while allowing their counterparty to diversify and increase their liquidity resources. She also worked on the discovery and implementation a new trading portal to automate money market funds trading.
In an earlier role in her career, Sonya served as Vice President at a large service provider where she managed the overall operation, direction and training of a unit supporting a $75 billion mutual fund client relationship, including over 20 subadvisor relationships. In addition, she managed two shared services teams that supported audit and corporate action functions across the division.
Sonya actively supports local charities through fundraising, including a 26.2 mile walk for cancer research. She is also involved in her children’s school and sporting programs and serves as Treasurer of the Old Colony Gridiron.
Sonya received her Bachelor’s in Finance from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
